The Democrat Primary Candidates and Their Words

It was inevitable. I tuned through the channels and came across the last Democrat debate. I tried to tune away. I did, several times, but it was too much like watching a train wreck, and I had to keep tuning back.

This is the one where the completely unbiased George Stephanopolous, whose career was created by being Bill Clinton's press secretary prior to him moving to ABC as a "political commentatory", was moderator.

Here is a short summary of the remarkable things these people said.

  1. Hillary Clinton: apologized again for her completely fictional story of how she was ducking bullets on a trip to Bosnia. She ADMITTED she had written about the incident in her book, and ADMITTED that she KNEW what she was saying was wrong when she said it.
  2. Barry Obama: was asked about Rev. Wright's statements, and why he stayed a member of the church if he objected to them. Barry claimed he had never heard them. (I assume his church served iced tea, just as Gore didn't hear a lot of what Clinton said during cabinet meetings because he drank too much tea and went to the bathroom alot.) He was then pressed on why he disinvitted Wright to a campaign activity, and he said that it wasn't the things he hadn't heard, but OTHER unacceptable comments from Wright that had prompted the disinvite.
  3. Barry, again: asked if he would be a good nominee. He claimed that he would be focussing on preventing a continuation of BUSH/CHENEY POLICIES and ADMINISTRATION. (I guess he forgot, in the heat of debate, that neither Bush nor Cheney are running.)
Simply remarkable.
